Autism Society Creates Platform Recommendations for Presidential Campaigns
        

The Autism Society has proposed recommendations pertaining to autism services and policies for inclusion in the presidential candidates' respective platforms. On July 2, the Autism Society met with Romney campaign staff members. In one month, the Autism Society will meet with the staff of President Obama's campaign. The purpose of each meeting is to present the Autism Society's non-partisan recommendations to the campaigns. Read More...

Please sign petition H.R. 2288: Caring for Military Kids with Autism Act. Currently, TRICARE military healthcare provides less than half the recommended treatments for autism, and only to children of active duty service members.

Camp JPAC Opening Ceremony
  
On Monday, July 16, 2012, Helen Mader joined Special Needs Network Camp JPAC Honorary Chairs Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas, Senator Curren Price, Jr., and Assembly members Holly J. Mitchell and Steve Bradford, SNN Board members, and Sponsors for the Opening Ceremony and Breakfast Reception for Camp JPAC on on the lawn of the Junior Blind of America, 5300 Angeles Vista Blvd., LA.  In addition to providing a summer haven for students, Camp JPAC creates summer jobs for 25 professional teachers, therapists and instructional assistants and 40 youth counselors who also receive 25 hours of job and college readiness training.
