On July 1, 2012 a new law, SB946, will go into effect in California and it requires most health care plans to provide coverage for applied behavior analysis (ABA) treatment for pervasive developmental disorder or autism. The new law does not apply to self-funded plans, out-of-state plans, Healthy Families, or Medi-Cal plans. However, clients with these types of plans may be able to obtain ABA services through other ways and should contact Behavior Frontiers at 1-888-922-2843 for more information.
Please be aware that regional centers are only required to fund ABA services for autism as a last resort. This means that as of July 1, 2012, clients who have a diagnosis of pervasive developmental disorder or autism who receive ABA services funded by the regional center will be required to seek out and use funding from the client's health care plan prior to using regional center funding.

FREE Benefits Verification!
Behavior Frontiers understands that the new CA law creates a potentially difficult time of transition and we want to do all that we
can to help families successfully navigate through this process. We are offering FREE health care benefits verification for current and potential clients who have a diagnosis of pervasive developmental disorder or autism. If your child does not have regional center services, then health care coverage may provide another funding source for your child's treatment. If your child does have regional center services, then verifying benefits will be mandatory.
Call us toll free 888-922-2843 and we will provide you with information whether your child's health plan covers ABA benefits for autism, as well as information related to co-payments, deductibles, etc.
