John Hsu Becomes New President of Rowland Heights Chinese Association
John 許當選羅蘭崗華人協會新一任會長
We are proudly announcing that our Officer, John Hsu, has become the new president of Rowland Heights Chinese Association (RHCA)!
Rowland Heights Chinese Association was established more than 20 years ago. Over the years, there are exciting changes and developments that have made our community more diversified and unique.
As RHCA continue its pursuit to better our future in Rowland Heights, John would like to get more people involved with community activities, which are committed to bring all people together and to help people in ways we can. He believes by working together, RHCA can do more, solve issues, and create a pleasant community we all want.
我們高興地向您宣布，我們的執行長，John 許成為羅蘭崗華人協會的新一任會長！
羅蘭崗華人協會已經成立了20多年。在這些年里，發生了許多激動人心的變化和發展，使我們的社區更加獨特與多元化。
在羅蘭崗華協一如既往讓羅蘭崗變得更好的同時，John 希望讓更多的人參與社區活動，集結大家的力量，盡大家所能互相幫助。他相信，通過齊心協力，羅蘭崗華協能做得更多，解決更多問題，以及為社區帶來更多歡笑。
What is RHCA?
羅蘭崗華人協會簡介
Founded in 1990, the Rowland Heights Chinese Association (RHCA) is a registered non-profit organization with a focus on serving Chinese-Americans in Rowland Heights and promoting the multicultural heritages of different ethnic backgrounds and maintaining unity in the community.
RHCA members participate in a variety of activities in Rowland Heights and other areas, such as:
- Connecting with Rowland Unified School District, schools, and teachers
- Assisting newly-arrived families
- Partnering with Asian Pacific Family Center on Family Education Seminars
- Encouraging Chinese-Americans to get involved in local community affairs
- RHCA was also one of the key organizers of 2011 Rowland Heights Buckboard Day Parade.
羅蘭崗華人協會是一個由羅蘭崗居民與商家共同組成，加州政府登記有案的非營利性獨立團體。羅蘭崗華人協會自一九九零年成立以來，一直秉持著團結華人、服務社會的基本精神，著重於社區的整體發展，在社區中進行各項服務活動。
羅蘭崗華人協會成立以來，積極參與羅蘭崗學區活動：
- 與學區教育委員會保持密切聯繫，反映華裔家長 的意見及學生的需要
- 協助新搬入家庭迅速定居就學
- 派代表加入羅蘭崗社區發展委員會，代表華人參與各項社區活動、社區遊行
- 與亞太家庭服務中心合作舉辦親子座談會，促進家庭和樂
- 值得一提的是，羅蘭崗華協是2011年花車遊行的主辦方之一。

STC 2012 Youth Leadership Training Camp Launched!
STC 2012 青少年領袖品德培養訓練營正式啓動！
It is with excitement that STC will host a 3 Session Camp for youth and young adults ages 8 - 21. Our goal is to develop our future generation to understand perpetual success and happiness in life do not come from academics alone. Having the right mentality, philosophy, and moral character will be just as important in guiding one to the right career and life path. STC will use team games, healthy exercises, seminars, plus interactions with key community leaders to make this camp a most enriching experience. The 2-week camp is FREE to attendees, being sponsored by STC， Dance Impressions Productions (DIP), and Institute of Chinese Martial Arts (ICMA). The Youth Leadership Training Camp is also supported by community leaders and volunteers.
Interested individuals need to submit an essay and if accepted, a $20 registration is required on the first day to ensure an indication of commitment. Please see the flyer and the application for all details.
STC, DIP, and ICMA look forward to a summer of great enrichment for all at this Training Camp.
好消息！STC 順天聯合將為8－21歲的青少年舉辦三期訓練營活動。我們希望讓下一代明白，單靠學業無法獲得永恆的成功與快樂。正確的心態、理念和思想品德更能引領我們走上適合的職業與人生道路。希望通過無私的團隊遊戲、有益健康的體育活動、與社區領袖的觀摩和學習，我們能協助孩子們成為將來社會的棟樑。訓練營由 STC、舞印舞蹈中心暨舞印製作、以及中華武術學院贊助，學員免學費。青少年領袖品德培養訓練營也獲得了社區領袖和志願者的大力支持。
有意者需提交一份申請作文，獲准入營的同學須在活動第一天繳納＄20 報名費。詳情請見傳單和報名表格。
STC 期待在訓練營與大家共度一個有意義的暑期。

"Boots-N-Spurs" Casino Night Fundraiser for RUSD Students 羅蘭學區"靴與馬刺"賭場之夜籌款晚會
The Friends of Rowland Unified Schools Foundation (FOR US) will host their annual fundraiser at the Industry Hills Expo Center "Pavilion" on March 30, 2012 from 6 - 10:30 p.m. This western-themed, fun-filled evening features casino games, dinner and dessert, dancing, raffle prizes and a huge Silent Auction. Adults 21 and over are invited to attend. All proceeds from the event support Rowland Unified Classroom Grants and High School Scholarships.

Movie Review － Yes Man
On our last Friday meeting, STC associates enjoyed a great movie - Yes Man. Everyone learned something from the movie. Here is a review written by our new associate, Sophia Chan.
The Movie YES MAN, starring Jim Carry is a hilarious movie, yet with a great message.
When we respond to life with an attitude of YES, we face life with a POSITIVE energy, a sense of willingness. This is vital to our overall success in life, as when we face life with such POSITIVE energy, the things that are around us, will feel it, the people that we come into contact will feel it and the projects we handle will exude a POSITIVE energy. When we say NO, we immediately send out a NEGATIVE energy and close ourselves up of any possibilities and alternatives, which will eventually lead us to many dead ends. Exercising the power of YES is indeed wise!
