We've just finished our first "Health and Me" Seminar. Thanks to
Benson's Laio's professional presentation, we were able to have some of
our questions answered. We will have following up seminar on 7/31 for
more updated information. Please check back for updates.
Our
next seminar topic will be "My eyes and eye lids". We are going to talk
about the possible illnesses pertaining to the eyes, and the importance
of eyelid health.

國際青少年作曲比賽 華裔張鵬堅奪冠
師從著名中國作曲家張慶祥教授的洛杉磯華人子弟、今年16歲的音樂神童張鵬堅JamesZhang5月1日在Colorado 州舉行的美國第十五屆PPYC國際青少年作曲家大賽上獲得第一名。據悉，這是有史以來洛杉磯華人子弟在
作曲比賽中首次獲得第一名。為了向社區介紹這一喜訊，由張慶祥音樂工作室敬邀，美國富蘭克林基金會協辦，於2010年5月8日星期六中午11時在阿凱迪亞採味樓餐廳舉行記者會。
張鵬堅的老師暨著名中國作曲家張慶祥教授表示：美國PPYC青少年作曲家大賽始於1995年。自2000年起改為國際比賽，今年為第15屆。在國際青少年作曲
界享有盛譽。近年來，華人子弟
在國際各項大賽中表現突出，但在作曲這一專業領域奪得榜首的情況並不多見。James Zhang 此次表現讓作曲界的人士對華人的觀感應有一定的改變，是值得我們華人，尤其是洛杉磯華人驕傲的。
James Zhang （張鵬堅）家住Arcadia , CA, 1993 年12月出生在美國，今年16歲，就讀於Harvard-WestlakeSchool私立高中。8 歲開始學習鋼琴，10 歲開始學習小提琴。James 2008 年起從師於中國著名音樂家、指揮兼作曲家張慶祥教授，在張教授的精心指導
和嚴格要求下，James 的琴藝有了極大的阿進步，在2009年以優異的成績（Passed with Merit ）順利通過了英國皇家音樂學院(Royal School of Music) 的最高級（8 級）的考試。在同年開始向張教授學習作曲，並同時學習英國皇家音
樂學院的大學課程，準備在今年的10月份參加英國皇家音樂學院的Diploma 考試。James 是一個興趣廣泛且發展比較全面的中學生，他除了喜歡音樂以外，對電腦科技、3D動畫和繪畫也相當感興趣，同時也是學校擊
劍隊的隊員。
2001 年5 月1日，James Zhang奪得美國第15屆PPYC國際青少年作曲比賽青年組第一名。PPYC 是在國際有一定影響力的作曲比賽，1995 年到2000年為國內比賽，2000 年以後提升為國際比
賽，每年舉辦一次，今年為第15屆。
