"We are anticipating this next year with much excitement. We love the beginning of a semester. The possibilities are limitless. And here at VFCC we are starting another semester with eager students who are hungry and thirsty for more of what God has in store for them. As we often say around here, we are trusting God that this will be the best semester and year that we have ever had."

National Fine Arts Festival a Success

For a second year, VFCC showcased with great success its mobile Media Command Center (mMCC) at the Assemblies of God National Fine Arts Festival in Louisville, Ky. The digital recording facility was buzzing with excitement as hundreds of high school students from around the country stopped by to record live tracks of their worship teams, bands, vocal and instrumental solos and ensembles. The 48-foot semi-trailer outfitted with state-of-the-art digital recording equipment and instructional space has become a great tool and resource for students to professionally record their performances, adding an incomparable experience for musicians.

VFCC also featured its popular photo booth, capturing the fun and silliness of those that stopped by the booth. Click here to view photo booth and behind the scenes recording studio photos.

Approximately 13,000 students attended the Fine Arts Festival where presentations, evaluations and callbacks took place between August 6-10, 2012. On the last day of the festival, winners were presented with Award of Merit, Award of Excellence and Honorable Mention trophies in 96 categories. During the Fine Arts Celebration Service, VFCC also presented a $3,000 scholarship to high school junior, Sarah Clark, from Port Jervis, New York.

31st Annual Northeast Regional Softball Tourney

The 31st Annual Northeast Regional Softball Tournament featured 32 teams eager to add their names to the history books, but only four teams would eventually capture flight championships. Tabernacle Baptist Church from Poughkeepsie, N.Y., became the A-Flight softball tournament champions after two arduous hot days of game play. The B-Flight champions are Bethany Assembly of God from Agawam, Mass.; C-Flight champions are South River Full Gospel Revival from South River, N.J.; D-Flight champions are Praise Assembly of God from North Versailles, Pa.
Second Annual Photo Contest Winners Announced

VFCC held its second annual photo contest this past Spring. Students submitted over one hundred images that captured VFCC's six core values: We believe in God, We prepare for the future; We care for others; We embrace community; We affirm the dignity of all people; We serve with creativity and excellence. A panel of five judges selected winners in each category, one overall grand prize winner, and six honorable mentions. Photographs were judged in adherence to the categories as well as architectural design, angles, color, metaphors, symbolism and literal or abstract design, originality, technical excellence and creative and artistic merit.
Ministering to Queens

On September 11, 2011, under a cloudy New York City sky, Mike '06 and Danielle (Blake) '07 Cooper prayed for an answer. They were about to visit Journey Church, where Mike had applied for a job. Six months later, Mike was installed as the Campus Pastor of the Journey Church Queens campus.
Recording A Legacy

As the National Chaplain of the Second Marine Division, Dr. Anthony DeMarco '50 has had the opportunity to speak to a lot of people over the years. His inspirational words have blessed thousands, and this January, he was able to publish some of that wisdom in his first book, Changing Landscapes and Enduring Foundations.

Answering A New Kind of Call

Paul and Kristin Mathias, a beloved couple at Valley Forge Christian College, recently announced that they are answering the next exciting call in their lives - to serve the unreached Muslim people of the Middle East.

Leadership Tools by Dr. Don Meyer
Dr. Don Meyers
Chole, Alicia Britt. Finding an Unseen God. Bethany House Publisher: Bloomington, 2009.

Alicia Britt Chole had questions. Questions that she wanted to be left unanswered. She did not want to live a fantastical life lived in faith believing in something that was unseen. To her this was like fluff; there was no substance to it. This was her atheistic life until one day something changed; it was as if the clouds parted, and she could see so clearly what she was avoiding before. Her story has now become her book, Finding an Unseen God. As an atheist, she shut all thoughts of God out of her mind. She brings to light her thoughts, beliefs and struggles as she made her way from utter darkness to the light of Christ. Alicia compels us even as Christians to analyze our beliefs and our reasoning that support them. Through her journey she has caught hold of a God who has relentlessly pursued her until she finally accepted Him.
