Digital Media Students Broadcast National Tournament
Never underestimate the power of a few visionary Valley Forge Christian College students. On November 8th, digital media students Joe Carreon, Josh Davies, and Steven Jayne, along with Media Services Manager Ben Franco, loaded up their broadcasting equipment and drove down to Kissimmee, Fla., for the NCCAA National Soccer Tournament. The tournament had previously never before been video broadcast online.

EURASIA Experience

On Wednesday, November 17, 2010, the Valley Forge Christian College family was ushered from a sunny day outside Cardone Hall into the "EURASIA Experience", an Assemblies of God World Missions initiative to raise awareness of the 4,000 unreached people groups in that area of the world. Heritage Hallway creatively transformed into a plane ride from Phoenixville to Eurasia, and transported the VFCC travelers thousands of miles from familiarity. As they exited their seats, they were hurriedly pushed past customs agents and into "the graveyard of missions." Click here to continue reading »

Alumnus Directs Her First Theater Play

Recent alum, Priscilla Coffey '10, is no stranger to the theater community at Valley Forge Christian College. But this winter, she decided to step onto another stage of her theater career by directing her first play, Shakespeare's Macbeth, this past November.

Priscilla said that the experience of directing was both interesting and challenging. She loved working with the actors and considered herself a "collaborative director" since she enjoyed allowing those she led to add their own creativity into the characters and scenes. The challenge came from the daunting reminder that she had the final say in varied situations and couldn't second-guess herself, even when she needed to make tough calls or answer new questions.

Goldman, Ari L. The Search for God at Harvard. Times Books: United States, 1991.

Ari Goldman was an Orthodox Jew and was pursuing his writing career at The New York Times for 10 years when he was allowed a sabbatical in 1985 to study religion at Harvard. He had always been a very devout Jew, and while reporting for "The Times" he had always written with great accuracy, but little attachment or feeling. And so, The Search for God at Harvard is the memoir of his experience there, of opening up to dialogue, understanding himself, and faith.

Particularly in today's Post-Modern culture, religion has become a topic wide-open for discussion. Many are quick to talk on and on regarding their personal beliefs, yet very slow to patiently listen and understand others. This memoir is an open door to listen in on captivating dialogue and thoughts concerning God, belief and faith. Sometimes we need a good reminder that maybe talking isn't the most important thing.
