To celebrate the start of the Olympics Upson Downs have created a great new Olympic section for all your aspiring athletes. Taking part and learning about other countries and their cultures is a great way to teach our budding Olympians about the world around them.

The Olympic Torch Relay is a great way to start your own Olympic warm up campaign. The Torch will be carried by 8000 torch bearers and will run for 70 days all over the UK.

The flame lighting is a precise ritual, and is the same at every games. It is lit from the sun's rays at the Temple of Hera in Olympia. When the games are underway the flame will burn continually in the cauldron marking the start of the games.

Your own Torchbearers will be able to spread the message of peace, unity and friendship that all Torchbearers carry.
