Make Sure Your Windows Are Keeping Heat In

Like it or not, old man winter is here. While we can hope for less snow than last year, wet weather is a certainty. Your home needs to be prepared. Impacts from exposure to the elements can be minimized by an annual checklist of things to consider and do.
This list can be used year after year and contains all the priority areas and systems that should be considered. Don't let a tough winter beat up your home. Begin winterizing today!
· Check all the weatherstripping around windows for leaks to prevent heat loss. Replace weatherstripping, if necessary.
· Replace all window screens with storm windows.
· Examine wooden window frames for signs of rot or decay. Repair or replace framing to maintain structural integrity.
· Check for drafts. Caulk inside and out, where necessary, to keep heat from escaping.
· Inspect windows for cracks, broken glass or gaps and repair or replace, if needed.

HOW TO BUILD...
|
The Right Way: Working with a team of licensed professionals from the outset. They'll guide you through the process and assure the job is done right the first time. Hiring a competent, reliable team to work on your home is a smart investment that will pay off in quality workmanship and peace of mind.
The Wrong Way: Working with the local handyman. Sure, they're a nice person, but are they qualified to build, remodel or renovate your home? Are they bonded and insured? Hiring the cheapest person in town may not be the best idea for your home. Nobody wants to overpay but be careful about always choosing the cheapest. Generally speaking, you get what you pay for. |
