Greetings!
We are always looking for new ideas and ways to improve our facility so that your pet has the best possible care. Starting soon, we are implementing a new program at the Resort called "Four on the Floor and Quiet Kennel" which was designed by The Center for Shelter Dogs. A program developed by the Animal Rescue League of Boston.
In the very near future, there will be treat baskets clipped on all the runs to reward calm, positive behavior exhibited by the dogs. The purpose of the treat is to create positive associations with people, and to reward desirable behavior from outside the kennel. Dogs will be rewarded with praise and treats when all 4 paws are on the floor (no jumping up) and when dogs are quiet (no barking) rewarding calm behavior.
Dry kibble will be used for this positive reinforcement, but we also understand that some dogs have sensitive stomachs or allergies. If this is the case, then please let us know and we will have a special collar to identify that your dog cannot have regular treats. We would then ask that you please bring us special treats that your pooch can eat.
