J.M.P.R. is leading the industry with our doggie daycare program because of our knowledgeable, skilled staff, amazing hours, state-of-the-art facility and a great behavior modification program.   Our goals are to socialize and play dogs and  also help to shape healthy behaviors using correct modeling within the group and handler intervention.  We are looking to set the standard in Daycare schooling for dogs.  Here at J.M.P.R. we are not babysitting dogs in daycare, we are teaching them at school. So, in the morning you should be saying to Fido, "Let's go, it's time to learn!"

 

As of August 1, there will be a rate increase. There will be a re-classification of  daycare prices into three rates.  Rate one will be dogs that weigh 0-39 lbs. Rate 2 will be dogs that weigh 40 lbs. or more.  Rate 3  will be for intact (unspayed females or un-neutered males) dogs over 7 months and dogs that we have individually evaluated and reported back to the owner as a "drive" dog.

 

The third rate class is for dogs that are considered to need  a higher level of supervision and training in group where we sometimes have to limit and closely monitor their interactions during playgroup.  Our playgroup facilitators and trainers work together to manage and modify their behaviors through positive re-enforcement, re-direction and lots of patience.

 

Some examples of behavior that we would work to modify would include obsessive  digging at the  water bowl with no relenting,  extreme rough housing, inappropriate disruption  into an established playing twosome over and over again,  mounting (oh the horror- not my dog!), un-relenting barking and much more.  

 

Our willingness to work with such issues is what sets us apart from our competition and allows good dogs to not be deprived of their much needed exercise and socialization.

 

Drive dogs are NOT caution dogs! They are dogs that exhibit behaviors that we can manage  and  with work, potentially may graduate from the drive category and return to a weight class category.

   

Every day I walk the halls of the resort and witness the talent of trained individuals giving 110 percent of themselves to rewarding but extremely demanding jobs.  I also witness all the  unsung heroes taking extra special moments to make each guest more comfortable.  It is imperative that we always have an impressive employee guest ratio (between 11 or 15 dogs to 1 employee) I feel a responsibility as an employer to advocate for these employees and treat them as fairly as possible by rewarding them for the wonderful caring job that they do.   They work hard for you and for the love of your pet.

 

My goal is to be a facility with  the most up-to-date methods, the most value, the best employees and the happiest dogs.  I want to assure you that we are dedicated to continuing to offer the best service you've come to expect of the  Resort.
