In The News

This weekend we'll have an interesting (be it Belgian leaning) draft line up to whet your whistle.  We've also created a small calendar of springtime events so that you may plan accordingly.  Here it is:

Pretty Things Night!!!  April 14th 6-9pm

With special guests/brewers/owners/soul mates, Dann and Martha!

Stone Brewing Night!!! April 27th 6-9pm

Expect some new and agressive beers.  Not for the faint of heart.

Two Brothers Night!!! May 5th 6-9pm

A great lineup from a great brewery!

In The Bottles

Two Brothers Monarch Wit / Warrenville, Il / 12oz bottles

The perfect Belgian wheat beer for spring

Ommegang Gnomegang / Cooperstown, Ny / 750ml corked and caged

A collaborative ale brewed with Brewery D'Acouffe

Brouwerij der Sint-Benedictusabdij de Achelse Kluis Bruin / Achel, Be / 330cl bottles

Certainly one of the harder to track down Belgian Trappist beers

Stillwater / Mikkeller Our Side / Baltimore, Md / 750ml capped

Collaborative Mikkeller and Stillwater Brew

Stillwater Love and Regret / Baltimore, Md / 750ml capped

It's made with flowers!

Jolly Pumpkin IO Saison / Dexter, MI / 750ml capped

It's made with flowers! And it's sour

In The Cask

 Firestone Walker Pale 31

On occasion, a brewery will release a beer exclusively  in cask format.  In New York State, this is one of those beers.  A bright, hoppy pale ale with a crisp finish, smoothed and rounded from the cask conditioning.  Unfiltered, unpasteurized, and if you want to try this beer, cask is the only way.

In The Draft

Ithaca White Gold

What an interesting beer.  A strong Belgo-American wheat beer, brewed with domestic malts, and french wheat.  Herbal, zesty, crisp and dry.

Greenport Harbor Belgain IPA

Rather than continue to release their Disorient IPA as a year round hoppy offering, Greenport has decided to brew a different hopcentric beer every month or two.  This new program is aptly titled "project hoppiness" and I for one, am a fan.

Barrier Spelunker Dark Saison

Another brand new Barrier beer.   Will they ever stop?
Hope not.   A Belgian Saison style ale brewed with darker roasted malts.

'T Gaverhopke Extra

A wonderfully complex Belgian quadrupel.  Certainly strong, with a rich, dark plum like fruitiness, and a bright and balancing tartness.

Founders Breakfast Stout

Sure, maybe it's not he KBS, but it's got all the key ingredients, and a better label.  Flaked oats, imported bitter chocolate,  Kona and Sumatra coffee. Get your morning started right!
