Here Are Some Beers We'll Have Up

This Weekend

( Post anniversary party )

Jolly Pumpkin Madrugada Obscura

Jolly Pumpkin is back with a strong, earthy, inky black barrel aged strong stout.  It's the perfect cold weather beer for those fans of the sour ales.

Barrier Simple

California Common is not a style of beer you see brewed all that often.  Perhaps because the title "steam beer" has a better ring to it, and Anchor Brewing has that trademarked.  Regardless, it's a great ale/lager hybrid characterized by malty, biscuity flavors and, light sulfury notes, and a sturdy bitter finish.

Lagunitas Fusion 5

Hmmm.  This one's a bit of a mystery.  Lagunitas Fusion beers are not all that common, and there's little information available about this one.  Either we're dealing with a wheat bock as described by Rate Beer, or we have a double IPA as listed by Beer Advocate.  All we know is it's 11.31% abv.

Full Sail LTD 05

Speaking of 5's.  The LTD line of beers from Full Sail is reserved for limited edition lager experimentation, and this particular venture comes in the form of an amber lager.  Smooth and malty with a hint of dark roasted barley.

Victory Yakima Glory

Yakima Glory season is drawing to a close, and soon we'll lose this great beer for another year.  What Victory calls a double dark IPA, is essentially a black double IPA minus the roasted malts.  What we get is a fruity, hoppy, strong ale with a nice deep caramel backbone.
