Yup, Hoppy Troegs Night Is Tonight!

(2/10, 6pm-10pm)

Good Afternoon.

Each year at around this time, the magical Nugget Nectar Fairy descends from the heavens to bestow upon us a ruby ale so hoppy, so fruity and delicious, that mere mortals can only handle but a small allotment each year.  Well, my friends, that time is now upon us, and the fabled Nugget Nectar is flowing.  Both from our taps and from our bottles.  Get it while you can!!!

For those of you with a penchant for those citrusy, floral and piney IPAs, we've got a special night for you.  Recently Troegs has decided to use their Scratch small batch series to begin brewing a string of uniquely hopped IPAs.  As you'll see below, we'll be pouring two of them tonight, each with its own distinct hop characteristics.

On to tonight's beers:

Troegs Nugget Nectar

Look at that hand squeezing that hop cone!  It's the perfect illustration of what this beer is.  Hop juice.  A heavily hopped Imperial Red Ale with Nugget, Warrior, Tomahawk, and Palisade hops.  It's a hopsplosion!

Troegs Stratch Beer #38

(Chinook, Centennial IPA)

The "C" hops (Cascade, Chinook, Centennial, Columbus etc) have been revered, and  used overwhelmingly in traditionally hoppy American ales, imparting an intense grapefruity, lemony, floral flavor and aroma.

Troegs Scratch Beer #39

(Simcoe IPA)

Simcoe is a relatively new hop variety, and know for it's unique resinous pine-like aroma and flavor.  It's also know to impart a marmalade-like quality when added in small quantities. I'm pretty sure they didn't add small quantities.

On Cask:  Troegs Pale Ale

Agressively hopped with northwest Cascade hops, this classic example of an American Pale becomes much more yeilding, and round to to the cask's lower carbonation.  The type of beer you could drink all day.

Troegs Dreamweaver Wheat

You really can't find an American Hefeweisen that comes as close to the traditional Bavarian examples as dreamweaver.  Maltier than most, with a full flavor and bright banana spice notes.

And next Thursday!

Meet Evan and Craig the Barrier Brewers!
