Wacky Wet Hop Weekend!
Join us for a weekend celebration of the bounty of this year's hop harvest. If you're a fan of the
humulus lupulus, then you're in for a real treat. We've decided to highlight 4 breweries embracing the trend of seasonal wet hop brewing, and we'll be featuring them in keg form. Wet hop beers come under many guises, from "harvest ale" to "fresh hop ale" to the standard "IPA". They are in essence, ales or lagers brewed during the height of the hop harvest, in which whole cone "wet", or freshly harvested hops are added directly to the brewing beer. These beers are typically brewed the same day the hops are harvested, rather that allowing them to undergo the standard procedure of drying before use. Brewing with wet hops imparts a subtle, fresh, fragrant, rich, resinous, grassy hop quality not typically found in beers with standard hop additions.
Aaand, don't forget to join us Sunday for some fog, and some halloweeny themed and pumpkiny themed beers. Booooooooooo!
