UW Letters Will Be Mailed Soon.
Can You Help?

In a few weeks, we will be sending letters to every household in the community asking them an important question:  If you could help just one person in Lamoille County, whom would it be?

The answer isn't easy.  Do you help:

  • people stay warm in their homes?
  • a parenting teen stay in school?
  • a young family escape an abusive home?
  • a woman overcome her addition to alcohol?
  • an elderly man stay in his home?
  • someone who can't afford their medications?

It's hard to choose.  They're all worthy causes.

When you support our United Way, you won't need to make this decision because you'll be helping them all - and MANY more.  We follow local needs and fund 15 of the most critical programs in Lamoille County.

We invite you to learn more about our work and the many lives we touch.  Take a few minutes to read our Annual Report and discover how you can be a part of making a difference for thousands of our neighbors.

Would you need special assistance in an emergency?   Learn more in our next newsletter, coming out on September 2nd.

Dear Prevention Friends,

Lamoille Prevention Campaign, in collaboration with the Fit & Healthy Council, is continuing work on prevention efforts in the county through a Vermont Department of Health Grant.  A component of the work is to assist local 'mom & pop' stores with making healthy food choices more readily available to customers.   To establish a baseline for the work, we are collecting information from residents about their preferences at local stores they frequent.

We would appreciate if you would complete the survey as well as share it with others.  We are specifically looking for low income individuals to complete the survey.

Please be certain to use Survey Code:  09-09-09  and Lamoille Prevention Campaign as the community coalition responsible for the survey.  The location is the place where you are filling out the survey.  Use this link:  https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/healthyretailer

If you can complete the survey with clients or customers, please do so and help us meet our survey goal of collecting 50 surveys by our deadline of September 15, 2011.  Paper surveys are also available upon request.

Please let me know if you have questions.  We appreciate your support and assistance.
