Make Your Resume Work For You!
Employers
are eager to discover what you accomplished in your previous experience.
So, when developing your resume, combine
your skills into descriptive accomplishment statements.
Seven Steps For Creating Your
Accomplishment Statements
Your
Accomplishment Statements should: 1. Portray you in a factual way
regarding your potential contribution to a new organization 2. Show specific action that you took
in previous jobs that led to positive results 3. Be specific, using examples, to
sell your experience effectively 4. Begin with a strong action verb to
capture the reader's attention 5. Avoid certain expressions such as
"worked with" or "helped with," which can make you sound like someone who stood
around and watched others or lent a hand 6. Express performance and results in
terms of numbers, dollars or percentages 7. Incorporate job duties which match
the key words in the job description
Be proud of your accomplishments!
