Tips for Coping
with Job Loss and Unemployment Stress

1: Face your feelings

Fear, depression, and anxiety will make it harder to get back on the job market, so it's important to actively deal with your feelings and find healthy ways to grieve.

2: Reach out

Don't underestimate the importance of other people when you're faced with job loss and unemployment. Be proactive! It is important to let everyone know that you lost your job and are looking for work.

3: Involve your family

Unemployment affects the whole family, so keep the lines of communication open. Tell your family what's going on and involve them in major decisions.

4: Take care of yourself

The stress of job loss and unemployment can take a toll on your health. That means looking after your emotional and physical needs and making stress management a priority. Make time for regular exercise because this can be a great stress reliever!
