Job Search Tips
Preparing for the Interview

Before the Interview
  • Know what the employer is looking for before the interview.
    •  the interviewer's name and title
    • job responsibilities
    • required skills
    • desired skills
  • Interview preparation
    • Check out the company's website to get           company, product/service, and location information.
The most reliable way for an interviewer to project how you would perform in the future is to examine the past. Therefore, many employers prepare some behavior-based questions, such as: "Can you describe a time you were dealing with a difficult manager?"  You can ask for a minute to think about your response.

At the Interview
  • Be on time
  • Use positive body language
  • Take notes during the  interview... summarize the results so that you'll be prepared for a second interview.
  • Appear interested and confident
  •
Verbal/Non-Verbal Communication
Acknowledge introductions with a smile and a firm handshake. Maintain good eye contact.

Additional Tips
Get a good night's sleep before your interview. Believe in yourself!
Be punctual. Arrive at least 15 minutes early to allow yourself time to collect your thoughts. Take the opportunity to observe the working environment. Keep your eyes and ears open. Be friendly with everyone.
Try to get the interviewer to describe the position and duties to you early in the interview so that you can relate your background and skills to the particular position.

Preparation is the key to success.
Good Luck!
