Seniors4Kids
Greetings!

With your help, Kentucky Seniors4Kids has really made some noise this year. We gave our legislators the recipe for children's success at Thanksgiving. At the holidays, we reminded policymakers that they could give Kentuckians of all ages a lasting gift by increasing access to quality early care and education.

In the new year, you thanked Governor Beshear for his request to increase eligibility to the Kentucky Preschool Program from 150 to 160 percent of the poverty level. We all cheered when the House included $7.5 million in new funding for pre-k in its version of the biennial budget.

Late, last week the Senate deleted new funds for pre-k in their budget. But there is still hope as the two-year budgeting process continues in the Conference Committees this week.

You can help make a difference at this critical time. We need to ask House Conference Committee members to restore the $7.5 million in new funding for pre-k.

Please take two minutes to send an e-mail through to the House members listed below.

These members will negotiate difficult choices over the next several days with the Senate and need to hear a clear message from as many people as possible that quality preschool for children, especially those from low-income families, is critical to the success of our education system and future workforce.

Thank you for help to restore pre-k funding at this critical time. We greatly appreciate your involvement in Kentucky Seniors4Kids.
