Name Change: Monon Community Center (MCC)
The Monon Center has gone through a name change and will now be the Monon Community Center. You will see this change appear slowly over time-the facility name abbreviated as MCC, an adjustment in the logo, the new name being used in all of our print materials and website, and, eventually, even changes in facility signage. This community built, jewel of Carmel Clay Parks & Recreation is a beautiful gathering place at the center of our great community and we felt it was important that this identity was reflected in the name. We hope that several things within these pages catch your attention and make you and your family and friends eager to spend some of your summer with us. The staff at the Monon Community Center-MCC-and throughout Carmel Clay Parks & Recreation looks forward to seeing you soon.

Children's Easter Egg Hunt: Location/Time Change
This
event will take place Saturday, March 27 at 10:30am at West Park (2700 W 116th
Street) OR at 11:00am at Forest Dale Elementary (10721 Lakeshore Drive West).
This event is free to the public and open to ages 0-11 years.

Group Fitness: Yoga Basics
For those who are unfamiliar with the practice of Yoga, this class is the perfect introduction to the poses and positions. Work in a small group with other participants who are new to yoga and you'll leave the program ready to take on your first Yoga class! You'll be able to ask questions and receive direct, one-on-one feedback without feeling overwhelmed.

Wrestling Tournament
Carmel Clay Parks & Recreation is co-hosting a wrestling tournament with Red
Cobra wrestling. The tournament will be held Friday, March 26
from 3:00-8:00pm, and all day Saturday the 27th. The event will close the gymnasium only. Spectators are
welcome at $3/person. |

WSI & Lifeguard Classes
We are offering Water Safety Instructor (WSI) and Lifeguard Classes this spring. By taking these courses, you become eligible for a job at the Monon Community Center as Swim Instructors and Lifeguards. Please contact Eric Mehl for more information at 317.573.4031 or emehl@carmelcayparks.com.

Program Cancellation: Little Seeds Preschool
Due to low enrollment we have decided to postpone the Little Seeds Preschool
Program until further notice. The Open House that was scheduled for March 23 is also cancelled. |

Drilling for Monon Greenway Over 146th Street
Sorry for not getting back with you sooner. Originally
we were planning on doing the drilling for Monon Greenway over 146th
Street during the week of Feb 22. Due to weather issues and a sick
driller it looks like the field work has not been started. Currently we
are scheduled to start the field work (i.e., soil borings) on March 8 starting
about 11:00 AM and it should take about 3 to 4 days. Call if you have any
questions.
