The Paragon News
November 2010
Hello Friends!

It's Fall already, and though I can hardly believe it, another year is almost behind us.  I wanted to take a moment to offer my sincere thanks for your continued business and trust.  The students and staff at Paragon are very grateful for our fabulous customers and wish all of you a warm and wonderful Thanksgiving!

Enjoying the Holiday Feast
We love this time of year - the beautiful colors, and of course, the holidays spent with family and friends.  While preparing the feast this year, here are a few tips to remember for your pets.

Remember that chicken, turkey, and duck bones aren't suited for your pet because they splinter easily and can become lodged in the digestive tract.

The ASPCA reports that raw bread dough is also dangerous for your pet.  Your pet's body heat causes the bread to rise in his stomach. "As it expands, the pet may experience vomiting, severe abdominal pain and bloating, which could become a life-threatening emergency, requiring surgery."

Try giving your pet treats he'll love - sweet potato or green beans and dribbles of gravy inside a Kong toy is a sure hit!
Howl-o-ween Costume Contest
The results are in!  Stella is the winner of our first annual Paragon Howl-o-ween Costume Contest.  First place for her chicken outfit is a free groom, teeth cleaning and nail trim.

Second prize goes to Superdog, A
KA GeeGee, who wins a free teeth cleaning and nail trim.

Third prize is a tie between Prince, who came to us dressed as a bumblebee, and Abby Rose (the bride) and Sydney Lynn (the clown).  For third place, they will each have a free nail trim and file.
Thanks to all who participated.  We loved seeing them dressed up and can't wait to do this again next year!

My pet has really dry, itchy skin.  Can you help?

Like us, pets are sensitive to the changes in the air.  As the weather gets cooler and furnaces kick in, the air in your home becomes dry and can leech the moisture from your skin - as well as your pets.  We have conditioners and shampoos that are designed to soothe irritated skin.  We can bathe or soak your pet in specially formulated products that will ease Fluffy's discomfort and help to repair damaged skin.
