Cat Grooming Available!
You've asked, and we've answered. Paragon is proud to announce that cat grooming services are now available!
Let us treat your cat to a moisturizing bath to ease her dry skin and eliminate excess shedding. We'll also trim her nails so that your furniture doesn't become her personal scratching post. Cat grooming is also an excellent time for us to check your cat's ears for dirt, wax buildup, and parasites.

Winter Paw Health
As the weather grows colder, you may notice that your skin becomes dry and easily irritated. If your hands are chapped, the same may also be true of your dogs foot pads. Cold, icy conditions may mean using chemical produ cts
to control ice on your sidewalks. As your dog walks through the ice and
snow, particles of salt, sand, or even ice crystals can become lodged in
their foot webbing. He may even ingest the salts by licking his paws,
which can cause illness. Here are some tips to help keep your dog's paws healthy this winter: Wash your dog's feet after each walk to remove excess salt particles. Keep the hair between his toes shorter to help prevent irritation caused by icy build up.
Water repellent balms are wonderful for preventing dry foot pads. If his pads are already dry and cracked, try moisturizing ointments or balms as soon as you finish your walks.

Keeping a Healthy Coat
Heating systems are wonderful this time of year. They keep us warm and comfortable, but also play a large part in stripping the moisture out of the air - and our skin. Itchy skin and a dry coat can make
your dog uncomfortable. There's a huge misconception that bathing your dog less in the winter months is better for their coat and skin. While it's true that harsh detergents can strip away essential oils, higher quality products, such as those that Paragon uses, actually replenish moisture in your pet's coat. We can help alleviate the dryness that causes itching and irritation with oatmeal
shampoos and moisturizing conditioners that are designed to keep your
dog's skin and coat healthy in the winter months.
Equally important is making sure that the coat is rinsed thoroughly. Even the best products will make his coat look dull if not rinsed away completely.
Lastly, his coat should be dried using a cool setting. This will prevent hair damage and burning of the skin.
Helpful Hint! Regular maintenance help prevent the "snowballs" that follow your dog into the house after playtime outside.
