Time Lapse
of Pergola!
We love the time lapses! Here is a really good one by a company in Isreal which shows the intricacy of how a pergola is built... |

GREEN GOODIE
It is important to cut your grass to the correct height. For St. Augustine and Bahia Grass, cut to a height of 3-4 inches. For Centipede and Bermuda grass, cut to about 1.5 inches. Cut when you can take 1/3 the height of the blade to get your desired height.
For example: You should cut St. Augustine grass when it is 6" tall to get a 4" blade height. This will help keep your lawn healthier and looking good. | |

GREEN GOODIE!
With Summer comes Mosquitoes. DEET is highly effective in deterring these irritating vampiric invaders, but there are more natural solutions.
Plants such as catnip, rosemary, peppermint, marigold, and garlic are purported to repel mosquitoes naturally, but according to CDC and University of Florida studies, Citronella grass and lemon eucalyptus are most effective.
Having these plants around is not enough by itself as it is the oils contained within that repel insects. Make potpourris, incenses, rubs, and lotions to get the most from these natural repellents.
Visit the Center for Disease Control link below for more information.

Click to see time lapse... | Summer sun and temperatures are upon us, and another client contacted us complaining of a family room which was turning into a sauna from all of the sun coming in through the pool deck area in the morning and early afternoon.
Once again a beautiful cypress pergola to block the Sun and create a classic looking transition out to the pool was just what was needed to solve the problem.
We were happy to help one more family out with another shade solution. Now they can enjoy their family room again in the early part of the day without closing every blind and turning it into a cave. Not to mention, they have a fantastic looking shade area to compliment their pool deck!

Gardenia
(Gardenia)
Gardenia is a flowering evergreen shrub which is popular for a number of reasons. It has beautiful blooms which have an incredible, sweet smelling fragrance. When not in bloom its dark green foliage works well as privacy screens, hedges, boarders, or ground coverings (depending on species). It does well in Florida and is fairly easy to grow and propagate.
You can expect 2-4 blooms per year depending on location and species. In central Florida most species are in constant bloom from March through June. They are widely available at most garden centers or you can propagate them by taking a cutting from a friend who already has one.
They prefer well drained, acidic soil and do best in full sun or partial shade. Plant them in an open, breezy area to get the most out of their fragrant blooms.
Follow the link below for detailed information about species choices, propagation, and care...

MEMORY LANE..
Here is a look back at just a few of our more
candid moments...
We take our work and our craft very seriously. Running a successful business demands it! But then again, it's also important to keep things in perspective. Those who take themselves TOO seriously and who can't laugh at themselves once in a while are less likely to learn going forward and probably also more likely to end up in the campus clock tower one day.
