PASTOR'S CORNER
"I realized that most of the people who taught me were interested in getting the gospel story and the Bible right, explaining it and defending it. [Karl] Barth didn't have much interest in that. He was a witness. He was calling attention to the lived quality of Christian life, the narrative of the Bible, the good news of the gospel. Listening to God as God reveals himself in Christ and the Bible and preaching... Entering into God's action of creation and salvation that is going on all around us and all the time participating in it." The Pastor by Eugene Peterson
My prayer is that we all might join with God in the ways in which God is already at work all around us.
Peace,
George
Eastminster PCUSA is having dinner at Matthews in Tucker this Wednesday and I hope that we can get together to join them - I will buy dessert if that will help you say yes!
Matthews Cafeteria at 6:30 pm on August 8, 2012!
Matthews Cafeteria is located in downtown Tucker close to the railroad tracks. The address is 2229 Main St., Tucker, GA 30084.
Opportunities like this are so important as we look to partner with other churches to reach the community in Christ. Together we will help grow Christ's church deep and wide. Please join me in making the first step in this new partnership.
In Christ,
George
