CONGREGATIONAL MEETING
I want to thank everyone for their participation in Sunday's congregational meeting.
In case you were not there it is important to inform you of the Session's decision to eliminate the position of choir director effective September 1st due to budgetary constraints.
Dawn-Marie has been a special gift to this congregation for many years and her leadership and beautiful voice will be especially missed. Dawn-Marie has a deep love for this congregation, which has been her church home and family. We will celebrate and honor her years of ministry with us over the next four months. We are truly thankful that Dawn-Marie has agreed to return on a regular basis as a guest vocalist.
I know that this is a profound loss and that there may be some unanswered questions. I want to assure you that the Session is committed to maintaining a quality music program, including organ music and a choir, and is planning for the transition in September. The Session meets the third Sunday of each month at 7pm and members are welcome to come to the meeting and share their concerns or questions. I am also available and hope that you will ask for a time when we can meet to talk about any concerns you have.
Please keep Dawn-Marie, the Session, and each other in prayer as we seek to respond to God's call while faithfully caring for the resources entrusted to us.
