SUNDAY, OCTOBER 2
WORLD COMMUNION SUNDAY
"All who eat and drink without discerning the body, eat and drink judgment against themselves." (I Cor. 11:29) The first Sunday in October is designated as World Communion Sunday, which celebrates our oneness in Christ with all our brothers and sisters around the world. Paul tells us that we are to "discern the body" when we partake of Holy Communion, mindful that we note our relationship to all our brothers and sisters in Christ in the celebration. PEACEMAKING OFFERING The Peacemaking Offering was created in 1980 to support the efforts of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) to live out a deeper commitment to peacemaking as part of our faithfulness to God. It is one of four special offerings received each year by the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). PRESBYTERIAN WOMEN All women of the church are invited after the service on October 2 to meet in the adult Sunday school room for lunch hosted by PW1. RSVP ,if possible, to Carol Grace ( 404 294 1368) or tgrace222@aol.com.
