Revised Common Lectionary Readings for Sunday, June 19, 2011, Trinity Sunday (Year A)
My week at the Calvin Center as a chaplain to the summer campers was exhilarating, exciting, and exhausting. The theme of the week was the gift of the Holy Spirit, a wonderful lead-in for the rushing wind of Pentecost this last Sunday.
Worship was filled with the Holy Spirit, and it was wonderful to have so many young leaders from Global Frontier Missions join us for worship. The Holy Spirit is evident in all of the new things that are happening at Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church and we need to keep our eyes and ears open for God's call on our lives.
This Wednesday at 6:00 pm we will have an opportunity to do just that as we gather with GFM and out-of-state missionaries who will be joining them in working with the children of our community. Giving glory to God for the abundant resources we share, this is an important opportunity to show our hospitality and to hear how others experience God at work at Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church. See you there!

Prayers
Shelvis Smith, PCUSA missionary to Kenya who spoke at church a few months back, asks for prayers for his mother Shirley Smith. She has been battling cancer and had a recent setback due to infection. Please keep Shirley, Shelvis, and Nancy, in your prayers in this most difficult time.
