Mary Jane's Thought
This Sunday, August 1, we will celebrate the Sacrament of the Lord's Supper. As you prepare for worship this Sunday, reflect on these words from our Presbyterian Directory for Worship: The invitation to the Lord's Supper is extended to all who have been baptized, remembering that access to the Table is not a right conferred upon the worthy, but a privilege given to the undeserving who come in faith, repentance, and love. In preparing to receive Christ in this Sacrament, the believer is to confess sin and brokenness, to seek reconciliation with God and neighbor, and to trust in Jesus Christ for cleansing and renewal. Even one who doubts or whose trust is wavering may come to the Table in order to be assured of God's love and grace in Christ Jesus. |
| SUMMER SALAD/SANDWICH STUDY | | Wednesday, July 28, will be the last meeting for our summer study. We will discuss what we have learned about the "Present Future" of the church and what it means for MDPC. Come prepared to share how you plan to "live missionally" and how you need help from other MDPC members to help you carry out your mission. We will begin at 6:30 PM with salad and sandwiches (bring something to share). We will end by 8:00 PM.
