| Summer Salad/Sandwich Study | |
Wednesday, June 16, 6:30-8:15 PM, is the fourth of our 10-week study based on Reggie McNeal's book and video, The Present Future: Six Tough Questions for the Church. We begin at 6:30 PM with a potluck "sandwich and salad" supper. (Bring a salad or some sandwiches to share.) Each week we watch a video presenting the tough questions that churches face in our changing culture, followed by a time of discussion about how MDPC can address these questions. Last Wednesday's video described the differences of the five generations currently alive: Seniors (born before 1925), Builders (born 1926-1945), Boomers (born 1946-1964), Gen-Xers (born 1965-1983), and Millennials (born 1984-2001). In preparation for this week, try to answer the following questions: Which generation (or generations) is MDPC geared for in worship and in our programming? Which generations find MDPC most alien to their culture? How are we going to learn more about these generational cultures? How can MDPC broaden our appeal across the generational cultures? How willing are we to take the steps necessary to connect with more generational cultures?

| See You Outside the Pew! | |

We are beginning a new activity in July to get to know each other better one-on-one. After the worship services on June 13th and 20th in the narthex there will be blank pieces of paper and a basket. Please write your name on a slip of paper if you're interested in participating in this activity and place it in the basket. We will randomly draw names and match people up. On June 27th we will inform you of your partner. We encourage you to meet twice during the month of July, each person choosing the location and activity of gathering, such as coffee, a meal out or in your home. It is entirely up to the two of you. If you would prefer to visit, call or write someone who is homebound or in the hospital please indicate so on the paper. This is simply intended to be an opportunity to get to know each other better outside the pews! I hope you'll join us for this time of fellowship!
