Summer Salad/Sandwich Study
Wednesday, May 26:  6:30 - 8:15 pm

Beginning Wednesday, May 26, 6:30-8:15 PM, Pastor Mary Jane Cornell will lead a 10-week study based on Reggie McNeal's book and video, The Present Future:  Six Tough Questions for the Church.

Memorial Drive Presbyterian is not alone in facing the challenge of declining church membership.   While there is an increasing interest in spiritual issues in our country, there is a decline in participation in organized churches.  How do we meet this challenge?  That will be the question that we will explore during this summer study.

We will begin at 6:30 PM with a potluck "sandwich and salad" supper.  (Everyone will be asked to bring a salad or some sandwiches to share.)  During supper we will watch a video presenting the tough questions that churches face in our changing culture.  This will be followed by a time of discussion about how MDPC can address these questions.

Spark the Mind that will change the World.-- Tupac Shakur

PRISM will host Tupac Shakur Center's PAC's Kids and local presenters of the South Korean culture. Join us on Thursday, May 13, 2010 at St. Timothy United Methodist Church @7 p.m.

PAC's Kids is a group of students who perform interpretations of the powerful works of Tupac Shakur.  These students express their take on where Broadway has been, and where they are ready to take it. The performances are their own original renditions that will surprise and inspire people of all ages.

The South Korean culture is fascinating.  Come and hear a presentation that takes you on a trip through time, from the 7th century AD to Korea today.  Hear about the Sarira Casket, some untold secrets, and the Sokkuram (the world's only cave temple built by human hands!) Learn how Korea has come from a war-torn country to a definitive leader in fields such as electronics and steel. Find out where So. Korea stands in the world today. Finally, you will be provided with a taste of So. Korean food.
