WILL YOU PRAY WITH ME?

Do you want to become more intentional about time for prayer and spiritual growth?  Many people are more likely to do so if they covenant with a group to pray together.  Pastor Mary Jane wants to see if anyone is interested in beginning a Knit One, Pray Too group. (Get the pun?)   Anyone who wishes may bring knitting - or crochet, cross-stitch, or other handwork - and join in a time for fellowship and for prayer for one another, our church, and our world.
Mary Jane has scheduled two Knit/Pray gatherings in her home:  Tuesday, March 9, 7:30-8:30 PM and Thursday, March 18, 10:00-11:00 AM. You are invited to join her either - or both - times.  Call or email for directions to Mary Jane's home and to let her know you're coming.  Bring your handiwork and together we'll drink tea, coffee or cocoa, and knit and pray together.  After this 'trial run' we'll decide whether to continue to Knit one and pray, too.

Bible Study

Pastor Mary Jane Cornell is leading a study on the Book of Revelation on Wednesday evenings during Lent.  To prepare for this week's study, read Revelation 13-18.  How does Revelation describe the evil powers against which Christians are to struggle and over which the Lamb has won the victory?  We begin with soup at 6:00 PM; the Bible study is 6:30-7:30 PM.

Lenten Series

Pastor Barry's Annual Lenten Series will continue on Fridays at 11 am in the Choir Room until Good Friday when a service will be held in the Sanctuary - also at 11 am.  This year the topic will be the Passion section of  Handel's "Messiah" illustrating the ways Handel exegeted and presented the message through music.

TALK TO US!

The Pastor Nominating Committee has scheduled two after-church times for members of the congregation to talk with us - telling us how we, as the church family, want our church to grow and what qualities we feel are needed in our next pastor.

The two dates - March 14th and March 21st - immediately after church - allow one hour for rich and important input.  This will be an in depth time together.  No one can speak for you but YOU!

Sign up sheets will be in the narthex after church this coming Sunday.  If neither of these times work for you, let us know what will!  We will make time!

Please pray for ears, heart and mind to hear the Holy Spirit speak through each other; through direct response to prayer to you and your church family.
The SAM (Senior Adult Ministry) Committee is looking for new members.

They meet 10 times during the year and plan the Spring Fling and Fall Outing at Calvin Center.

If you are interested in serving on the committee, notify Doris Hoenig.
