WILL YOU PRAY WITH ME?

I want to become more intentional about time for prayer and spiritual growth.  Because I know from experience that I am more likely to fulfill my intentions if I convent with a group, I invite you to join me in prayer.
When I was in my last church we started a prayer group called Knit One, Pray Too!  (Get the pun?)   I would like to try this at MDPC.  The idea is for folks to gather, hopefully in someone's home, for a time of fellowship and prayer.  Anyone who wished could bring knitting - or crochet, cross stitch, etc. - and those who wanted to learn a craft would have ready-made teachers.   Each gathering would include time for prayer for one another, our church, and our world.
On Thursday, March 4, 10:00-11:00 AM and Tuesday, March 9, 7:30-830 PM I will be in my living room knitting.   I invite you to join me either - or both - times.   Call or email for directions to my home and to let me know you're coming.  Bring your handiwork and together we'll drink tea, coffee or cocoa, knit, and pray.  After this 'trial run' we'll decide whether to continue to "Knit one and pray, too."
Blessings,
Mary Jane

 Bible Study

The Revelation to John is one of the strangest - and most misunderstood - books in the Bible.  Pastor Mary Jane Cornell is leading a study on the Book of Revelation on Wednesday evenings during Lent.  To prepare for this week's study, read Revelation 4:1-6:17; 11:15-12:17, 19:11-20:15.  Think about what these texts say about the victory gained by Jesus Christ. We begin with soup at 6:00 PM; the Bible study is 6:30-7:30 PM.

Pastor Barry's Annual Lenten Series will start on Friday, March 5, at 11 am and will continue on Fridays in the Choir Room until Good Friday when a service will be held in the Sanctuary - also at 11 am.  This year the topic will be the Passion section of  Handel's "Messiah" illustrating the ways Handel exegeted and presented the message through music.

TALK TO US!

The Pastor Nominating Committee has scheduled two after-church times for members of the congregation to talk with us - telling us how we, as the church family, want our church to grow and what qualities we feel are needed in our next pastor.

The two dates - March 14th and March 21st - immediately after church - allow one hour for rich and important input.  This will be an in depth time together.  No one can speak for you but YOU!

Sign up sheets will be in the narthex after church this coming Sunday.  If neither of these times work for you, let us know what will!  We will make time!

Please pray for ears, heart and mind to hear the Holy Spirit speak through each other; through direct response to prayer to you and your church family.
