"If I were one of those people that consistently and diligently billed
$300k - $400k per year what would my days look like? Maybe a better
question, if next Monday was my first day as a rookie and I KNEW and I
KNEW that I KNEW that I would bill over $200k or $250k in 12 months from
Monday, what would my days and hour by hour look like?
What would my work habits look like?
What would my daily numbers look like?
When would I get into the office?
What time would I leave the office?
What would be my Time on the Phone (TOP) daily?
How many calls would I make daily?
How would I break down my numbers between MKT and REC?"
The above is an excerpt of a recent post made at our LinkedIn discussion group, the
Recruiting Tactics & Strategy Group. This thread was started by a recruiter who feels like he's starting fresh in his business after nearly a year of not being able to fully dedicate himself to the mission.
Have you ever felt that way? Do you feel like you're ready to start building a truly successful recruiting business but haven't mastered the daily tactics you need to do so?
Let me share with you a portion of the powerful answer to these questions that
Gary Fruchtman, owner of The Kent Group, posted in response:
"The Performing Recruiter's Daily and Weekly Schedule
You are a business owner - an entrepreneur. What would you do to start
and grow a business yielding a virtually unlimited income? This business
is not a 9:00 - 5:00 enterprise. It is a 24/7 enterprise. The following
framework is a guide to "how to run" your new business: Why the color green? It's the color of money, of course.
THE MISOGI: Samurai preparation for battle:
We do this in the morning rather than the evening. The enthusiasm and
ramp up for our plan will not be maintained over-night. Our reading,
writing, planning and calling out our commitment for the day is like
sharpening a sword.
7:00 - 8:30
#1 - Read one page of LOR material
#2 - Write paragraph of thoughts on material in daily reading log.
#3 - Prepare Call out and email, with daily reading log attached
Call Out includes two parts:
1. Strategic Call Out: Why am I here today? What is my primary goal that
I will be happy when I complete it?
2. Tactical Call Out: 7 metrics. What is the goal for each - today?
8:30 - 9:00
Check emails and respond. Finalize plan for the day. Coffee etc...
THE BATTLE ROYALE - All weapons deployed, hell bent for glory, hair on
fire:
Make no mistake; this is a battle against our own demons. What prevents
us from making our 300+ minutes of phone time - ourselves. It is a
battle for commitment. It is a battle against our own inertia. It is a
battle against our own emotions. It is a battle for sure.
9:00-11:30..."
