If you pictured 2009 as an old man, just about to pass away tonight at the stroke of midnight...would he look like this wonderful Father Time cradling the Baby New Year in his arms? 

I confess, that wouldn't quite be the image I'd have to use if I was going to show you this year for myself.

Imagine the nastiness of a vile old man, bitter and cruel.  My 2009's Old Man would be one of those types. 

He'd have a cane to crack us with.  In his better moods, he would use his cane to pull on little kids' legs and trip them, snickering!  And what a sadistic laugh he'd so often bellow in his malevolence, too. 

Sure, he'd be filled with the most important lessons (I typically call them "Bear Market Lessons"), but we'd not feel one shred of gratitude for any of those lessons since we hated the teacher so much. 

My 2009 Old Man would be ready to go, and yep, good riddance.

Usually, the topic of putting an old man "to rest" wouldn't be much fun.  But I'm honestly ready to put this one down.  How about you?

What we must do is put all of our loyalty and love into the new Baby, 2010, now.  But, how do we do so?

Count your 2009 placements.  Exactly how many placements did you make? Now, double that number.  That's our goal for 2010. 

Our brand new baby, whom we love so much, has the mathematical name:
