Late-breaking Program Addition to Our Conference!

USDA Deputy Secretary Kathleen Merrigan

USDA Deputy Secretary Kathleen Merrigan will join us for a breakfast talk 7:30 a.m., Saturday morning, January 21, 2012. This is an opportunity to hear from the country’s most prominent sustainable agriculture advocate! She manages USDA’s Know Your Farmer, Know Your Food initiative, which emphasizes the need for a fundamental and critical reconnection between producers and consumers while revitalizing rural economies by supporting local and regional food systems in rural America. A question and answer period will take place after her presentation. Don’t miss this opportunity to join the discussion. Read more here.

We Want Your STUFF!

New (or nearly new) farm related item such as tools, implements, bulbs, fertilizers, pest controls, nonperishable foods, handcrafted goodies, labor or services, B&B weekends or even gift certificates are being sought for our silent auction. Got something to donate? We want it! Our silent auction helps us raise funds to support Southern SAWG’s important year round work. Your donations are much appreciated. But please be kind to our coordinators and let us know right away if you will be making a donation. Click here for a copy of the form.

Keep up with Southern SAWG through our social media outlets. We are on Facebook and Twitter, connecting with our friends and supporters. Use the hash tag — #SSAWG — to show your support at the conference!
