Airplanes! Airplanes!!
And More Airplanes!!!!
Without a doubt, Fantasy of Flight is in the midst of a fantastic growth spurt in the collection. New arrivals are coming in at a thrilling rate. It truly feels like Christmas almost every day.
A long awaited and quite large package arrived from The Vintage Aviator Ltd. in New Zealand. Inside were not one, but two, perfect works of art.
First out rolled the Sopwith Snipe.

And then the Albatros D-Va.

Both of these perfect reproductions feature completely rebuilt and operational ORIGINAL engines. Will there ever be a dogfight between these two beauties? That's a bit doubtful since Kermit will probably be their only pilot to fly them!
But the thrills just kept on coming... Within a couple days, another truck arrived. This time it carried an even more unusual flying machine to join the collection: a Pitcairn Autogiro.

The assembly activities have kept the hangars buzzing as wings go on the Albatros and a large group of giro enthusiasts piece together the Pitcairn. The first to test was the Autogiro. And the results speak for themselves!
