Fresh from the Barnstorming Era (and still dusty from her tumble through the time-spPenelope H. Sparstrutter, Wing Walker Extraordinaireace vortex), Penelope H. Sparstrutter, Wing Walker Extraordinaire, joins Fantasy of Flight's cast of "lost in time" characters.

Penelope was the pride and joy of Sparstrutter's Flying Circus, founded by her dad, Marcellus Sparstrutter. She was just a tiny tot, when she crawled out on Daddy Marcellus's wing and TOOK HER FIRST STEPS! As she grew up she always pushed her boundaries further and further...

Her favorite pilot was always her old pal from Sparstrutter Airfield, Smilin' Jack Eagle. Maybe Penny even felt a spark for Jack, but he was so smitten with his Jenny airplane that he never noticed her smiles and sighs. She loved to walk on Jack's wing... but one day he just disappeared. Poof... gone.

Her search through time has led her here... to Fantasy of Flight. She found Jack, but Penelope also found a lot of other really interesting people and airplanes. Now Jack will have to wait his turn for her attention!

BreastCancerEventsOctober 22: A Pink Day at

Fantasy of Flight

The "Making Strides against Breast Cancer" walk proved to be a great success. From their website: "Many, many thanks to all of the amazing teams that participated in Saturday's walk. Together, we covered the runway of Fantasy of Flight, and painted it PINK! With your help, we raised over $100,000 to support the fight against breast cancer." Top participant "Pacesetter" Jerri Huntt, walking with the Watson Clinic Women's Center team, single-handedly raised $3,142.68 in donations.

And "The Big Pink Ribbon" project raised spirits and awareness. Check out the process and the inspiring outcome.

at Fantasy of Flight

Recent visitors to Fantasy of Flight have noticed the camera crews working. A recent project--helmed by Jon Anderson and a talented video crew from Valencia College--was to create a video entirely edited from still images that bring life to the 1929 Ford Tri-Motor segment of We are the Past,  the Fantasy of Flight audio experience. The result should be a lot like a moving picture book!

The cameras were brought out again just a few days later; however, this time the crew and the talent were all "in-house." And the "star" was the Travel Air 4000, which is being filmed for another project altogether.

Our editor gave us an early glance of the footage, but he's still working on the final product. We all agree that--just like the Tri-Motor--she has star quality!
