| A Message from the Director of Education |
Hello!
I would like to let you know about two upcoming events that may be of interest to your family: the Latin Festival this Saturday, and the Youth Fair later this month. Although we live in a relatively small town, there is certainly no shortage of things to do!
I'll see you soon!

| Visit the Brookview Table at the Berrien County Youth Fair! |
|
The Berrien County Youth Fair will be held from August 17- August 22. The fairgrounds are located at 9122 Old US 31 in Berrien Springs.
If you've never been to a county fair, it is a truly American experience. Children from all over the county show their livestock: pigs, cows, goats, sheep, poultry, as well as their prize fruits and vegetables, pies, crafts, and about everything elso you can think of! There is plenty to eat, to see, and of course there are carnival rides for children (and adults) of all ages. The county fair is the only place I know of where a person can eat a corn dog, see a newborn calf, listen to a concert, and ride a ferris wheel all in one day.
This year, Brookview School will have a booth at the fair. If your family is planning on visiting the fair this year, we invite you to use "Brookview" as your designated meeting place for connecting with friends or family.
We will be in Commercial Building 37, Space 17.
For a complete schedule of the week's events, visit the fair website at www.bcyf.org
We'll see you at the fair!

| Thank you Volunteers! |
If you happened to stop by Brookview School on Monday, July 27, then you couldn't have helped but notice the crew of volunteers working in and around the building. Eighteen individuals who work together in a Whirlpool Finance team spent a day away from their desks in a special "Day of Caring" organized by The United Way. One group of volunteers repaired the boardwalk so that Brookview students will once again be able to safely enjoy nature walks in the woods and prairie. Another group painted the handrails in the hallways and a third group painted a huge classroom! Brookview parent Colleen Froelich graciously provided a delicious lunch for all the volunteers. Everyone enjoyed themselves and all in all it was a terrific day! If you know any of the following people, be sure to thank them for their work: Bob Biron, Courtney Rousselle, Fabrice Leblanc, Jeff Noland, John Mateyak, Jordan Bibbings, Liz Gray, Mark Pickens, Michael Ruchti, Raj Chandrasekaran, Ryan Maupin, Stephan Kuljko, Steve Howard, Thom Figueroa, Todd Melton, Victor Lopez, Vikram Rao, Yoshie Nishimura. Thanks a million!
