The last day of school! Can't you remember the elation you felt during your childhood on such a special day? In my own memories, I place it right up there with wonderful Christmas mornings. Just the thought of nighttime summer swimming without homework or early bedtimes brings back many joyful memories of childhood.

For adults who still spend each day at school, the last day of school brings a broader mix of emotions. Certainly, we also welcome the change to our routine. It gets quiet around the school office as a handful of us work through the planning phase of summer and our faculty enjoy rest and recovery during their vacation. However, at The Christ School, we genuinely miss our students and parents as they leave for the summer.

God has faithfully provided for us in each step of our amazing 2012-13 school year journey. Our kindergarten students have moved on to 1st grade and our 8th grade graduates will now take their next step in their journey as they begin high school. There is a class of our newest Lions who are excited to begin their kindergarten journey in August.

Serving at The Christ School is a true gift that provides a deep insight in to the most cherished fabric of our society, faith and family. It has been a blessing to serve you each step along the way this year and we wish you a safe and wonderful summer. We will be so excited to welcome back our students and families in August.

 Reading during the summer gives students an opportunity to explore new literary adventures and practice their skills so they are prepared for the new school year. To help rising 1st through 5th grade students "get fired up" for reading during the summer, TCS and PTF are offering a gift certificate for the fall Book Fair to all TCS students who complete a minimum number of books over the summer. Information about The Christ School Summer Reading Challenge 2012 were sent home via backpack express.  The "Summer Reading Challenge" forms for each rising grade level can be found in Resource Documents on Renweb. School Supplies Order Deadline 

As a special service to our families, PTF offers a quick and easy way for you to complete your 2012-13 school supplies shopping and have your student's supplies delivered directly to the classroom in August. Simply return the order form delivered via backpack express (or download it here) and return it with payment by Wednesday, June 6, 2012 (today). Orders received after June 6 will incur a late fee.  Please check the order form for details. 

Local Pastors Visit TCS 

The Christ School hosted a number of local pastors for our Second Annual Pastors' Chapel on June 1st. Our visitors came from all over Orlando, representing eight different churches and six different denominations. The pastors joined us for daily chapel led by Mrs. Carrick's second grade class who showed us how to have faith in times of worry. Thank you to all TCS families who shared an invitation with your pastor and to those who joined us that morning for chapel. A big thank you to our middle speakers Noah Chevalier, Cara Eakins, and Brianna Sanders! The pastors truly enjoyed hearing from our students and seeing how they are confidently "standing strong" in their faith.

Athletes, coaches and parents, thank you for an awesome year of athletics. You roared with the strength of many lions.

To our 8th grade athletes, we look forward to hearing about your high school journeys and trust that you will take the pride of the lions with you.
