TCS Family,
The past week has involved a lot of great activities for our school community. Last Friday, we welcomed hundreds of grandparents on campus for Grandparents' Day. Last night, dozens of students showcased their talents at our annual talent show. After our students and grandparents left campus last Friday, I enjoyed spending a couple of focused hours with our faculty during a professional development activity.
Last Friday's professional development focused on our on-going curriculum strengthening initiative. This continuous focus on growth and improvement includes developing a comprehensive curriculum framework that further strengthens and defines how we provide an academically rigorous experience for each student. Our framework focuses on five key aspects that involve faculty, students and parents:Planning, Teaching, Informing, Testing and Analyzing.
It is truly a pleasure to lead such a quality group of professional educators. Our teachers are serious about providing a rich academic experience for each student and our curriculum framework will further strengthen our experience by providing our faculty with the consistency and support they need to continue to facilitate the optimal learning of our students. I look forward to sharing many more details with you later this spring as we prepare for next school year.
Here are a few additional announcements.

TCS Students Serve
A friendship that began on One Great Day of Service continued on Valentine's Day as Mrs. Bosscher's third grade class went back to spend a few hours at the Orlando Day Nursery. They made Love Bug hats with about 60 children at the center and read a lot of stories. It was heart warming to see third graders pair up with little friends and gently guide them through the activities. It was a great day of sharing a little love! Thanks to moms Amy Powell and Lindsay Bryan for organizing the morning and getting all the supplies ready for the craft activity. |

2011 Mane Event Winners attend Cirque du Soleil
Mrs. Ojeda, Mrs. Cook, Owen Cook and friend Griffin were the winners of Mrs. Ojeda's 2011 Mane Event Teacher Gift. The group attended a Cirque du Soleil La Nouba training at Downtown Disney. They spent the afternoon at Downtown Disney and were treated to a backstage tour led by Mrs. Ojeda's husband Sandro, a flying trapeze artist. Their package included watching the trapeze artists prepare for the show, receiving autographs from the performers, a personal backstage tour, as well as photographs with the performers of choice. Owen tested his skills at El Diabolo, a large yo-yo like apparatus. Mrs. Ojeda, TCS Spanish teacher, is offering this excursion again for the 2012 Mane Event! Who will win this year?
