Are you ready to Celebrate 15?  We look forward to seeing you at The Country Club of Orlando.  Doors open at 6:00 p.m.

Plan a visit to The Christ School Library/Media Center for a preview of the class baskets/gifts.  They are beautifully decorated, wrapped and on display.  Take a look and plan your bid!

Auction donations are still being accepted.  Do you have football, basketball, hockey, baseball or other sporting event tickets you could offer?

If you subscribe to the Broadway Series, Ballet, Opera, or other classic performances, are you willing to share tickets to one of the shows?  If you own a vacation home (beach, mountain, camping, hunting), are you willing to share a week or weekend stay?  Do you have restaurant connections?  The Christ School Mane Event is successful because of the many connections of our parents and extended families.  We appreciate your help in making this year's event a true Celebration!

If you would like to help pick up auction items, transport items to the venue or set up the auction on Friday, March 18, or Saturday, March 19, please contact Robin Swann or Joanne Fleming.  We can always use more hands.

National Pig Day

March 1:  National Pig Day?!?

Everything you need to know you learn in kindergarten!  Mrs. Dodgion's class celebrated National Pig Day by reading:  If You Give a Pig a Pancake; practiced their math skills adding and subtracting pig manipulatives; wrote in their journals about baby pigs, (correctly referred to as "piglets") and finished off a day of learning with class-made pancakes!

Deeper Understanding of Holocaust

7th grade students are delving into the Holocaust in Language Arts as they read The Devil's Arithmetic by Jane Yolen and in Social Studies through their participation in a simulation of Jews in hiding. The students read a newspaper account of a Christian family that hid nine members of a Polish Jewish family for two and one-half years underneath the floor boards in their home.  "Housed" in a similar space of 7 feet long by 5 feet wide and 20 inches deep, students experienced a full range of emotion including hope, despair, fear and frustration. They concluded the simulation by journaling their experience with new-found empathetic insight.
