January 12, 2011

TCS Family,

While our teachers and students are working hard to complete the 1st semester of school, we are also busy planning for next school year.  I spent the morning visiting with a large group of prospective families at our open house.  I am pleased to see the level of interest across the K-8 grade levels.

Please join us for our Showcase 2011 tomorrow night, Thursday, January 13 at 6:30 p.m.  We will have a brief presentation in the Sanctuary and our teachers will be available to visit with parents at our curriculum expo.

Re-enrollment packets will be available for pick-up at tomorrow night's event.  Please remember our new re-enrollment procedures for this year.  The re-enrollment process can be completed now and the deadline for the re-enrollment deposit is February 15, 2011.  After February 15, we will begin to offer available spots to any prospective students in our waiting pool.  Current families who wish to re-enroll following the February 15, 2011 deadline will be required to pay a $250 late re-enrollment fee.

I am looking forward to seeing you tomorrow night at 6:30 p.m.

Here are a few additional announcements:

Comments after last year's event:

The presentation in the Sanctuary was outstanding.  It was wonderful hearing from TCS graduates.

Wow!  The address last night was terrific.

Upbeat, informative, realistic, encouraging...

If only we could broadcast it on the local news.  It was obvious a lot of time and effort went into all the preparations.

Grandparents' Day 2011

On Friday, February 18, TCS will once again welcome all Grandparents and Grandfriends to our campus to enjoy a morning of worship, fellowship and education. To help make this a very successful day, we need your help
 with:

Poem Contest

Students of all grades are welcome to submit original poems to honor their Grandparents/Grandfriends.  The winning poem will be featured on the cover of the Grandparents' Day program.  Students must deliver their poems to TCS office by

Friday, February 4, 2011.

Photos

Please email your favorite grandparent/grandfriend photos to lindsay_bryan@mac.com.  The photos will be used in a video presentation during the Grandparents' Day program.  Please limit 2 photos per family.  We apologize, but photos will not be accepted after Friday, February 4.

Tree of Life

TCS's Grandparents' Day celebration includes a special activity on Thursday, February 17, for students whose grandparent(s) cannot attend due to death, illness, distance or family circumstances.  Students who wish to participate in this activity are invited to decorate a simple die-cut leaf with a photograph, drawing or written representation for their loved one.  The decorated leaves should be brought to Chapel on Thursday, February 17.  At the conclusion of the regular Chapel service, there will be a short devotional during which students who have decorated leaves will be invited to come forward and place their leaves on the Tree of Life.

Volunteer Opportunities

There are many opportunities for volunteers to help on Friday, February 18.   Please email dottieclendenin@cfl.rr.com  or lspigener@cfl.rr.com  for more information.

6th & 7th Grade Students Create

 Gift Bags For Compassion Corner!

Students brought in various supplies including shampoo, combs, socks, soaps, etc. for gift bags. Many crafted beautiful cards and decorated the bags before filling them with the items. Students were eager to share their faith and joy with others in the community.  FPCO distributed the gift bags on Christmas Eve.
