Dear TCS Families:

In just a few days, The Christ School faculty and staff will be back on campus preparing for the start of our 15th school year.  We look forward to the excitement that will energize our hallways and classrooms with the return of our students. As we complete our staffing plans for the 2010-11 school year, I am grateful for the professional faculty members God has brought to The Christ School.  Please help me welcome the most recent additions to The Christ School family:

Mrs. Teressa White will join TCS as our K-8 music teacher.  Mrs. White has extensive experience in teaching music to students in K-12th grades with specializations in piano and voice.  She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Education and a Master of Business Administration.

Mr. Scott Stuart begins in a new position at The Christ School designed to focus on leadership development for our middle school students.  He will be teaching middle school Bible and P.E., coaching after school sports and coordinating MS Chapel and small groups.  He is known by many of our middle school students from his most recent role as a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Orlando's youth staff and TCS small group Bible study leader.  Mr. Stuart served as Director of the FSU Campus Crusade for Christ and has led numerous domestic and international mission trips.  He holds a Bachelor of Science degree and is currently pursuing a Master of Divinity.

Mrs. Dianne Ojeda will serve our students as their K-8 Spanish teacher.  Mrs. Ojeda comes to TCS specializing in communicative language teaching using visual, oral, kinesthetic and auditory methods to teach her students to speak Spanish.  Mrs. Ojeda has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish, a Bachelor of Arts degree in Marketing and a Master's degree in Education.

Mrs. Aimee Rose joins TCS as our K-8 art teacher.  She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art Education and has taught art to students at all grade levels.  Mrs. Rose has expertise in teaching with a variety of mediums and is very eager to work with TCS students to integrate art across the curriculum.   TCS students will benefit from Mrs. Rose's enthusiasm for the arts and varied instructional methods.  She is excited to be involved in The Christ School Arts After School program and as an extended care teacher.

As we complete our summer, we are saying goodbye to Mrs. Olinger, Mrs. Ramos and Mrs. Parks-Smith as they transition into a new season of their lives and explore new opportunities.  I am thankful for their service to the TCS mission and I know you will join me in wishing them well.

I hope that you enjoy the last few days of summer vacation with your family and I look forward to seeing everyone on Friday, August  20 for our Middle School Kickoff, Meet the Teacher and Back to School Barbecue.
