1. I was born in Massachusetts, but I have never seen Massachusetts.
2. I have lived in Oklahoma and Puerto Rico.
3. I am Cuban and Puerto Rican, but I don't speak Spanish.
4. I graduated from Oak Ridge High School and I learned more at Oak Ridge than I did in college.
5. My son Peter graduated from the United States Naval Academy and will be heading for flight school in October.
6. My son Matthew has been a life-long Seminoles fan and will attend Florida State University this fall.
7. My husband and I recently purchased a business, PhotoGraph-X. We create promotional products such as t-shirts, embroidered items and banners.
8. My favorite TV shows are NCIS, The Closer and Jeopardy.
9. I enjoy traveling and hope to one day travel the world.
10. I once managed a store that sold snow ski apparel and preppy clothes.
11. I have been married to the greatest man I know for 27 years.
12. I am now realizing how hard it is to come up with 40 facts about myself.
13. I love my mutt, Grady.
14. Our cat, Charlie, likes to "talk" during the early morning hours.
15. I earned a 4.0 while completing my Master's in Education at Rollins.
16. I graduated with honors from U.C.F. with a B.S. in Liberal Studies.
17. For over 6 years I trained inside and outside sales people and was a purchasing agent for a local fastener (nuts, bolts, and screws) wholesaler.
18. I met my husband under the blue light at K-Mart.
19. Repetitive noises drive me crazy.
20. I became a Christian when I was around 24 years old.
21. My spiritual gifts are administration and teaching.
22. God called me into teaching one night not long after I became a Christian.
23. My first teaching job was in a reform school. Not really, but it was 75% male and I don't think other schools would have accepted most of them.
24. My dream is to visit any country in Sub-Saharan Africa.
25. I like to walk, hike, swim, and snorkel.
26. My current favorite color is purple (eggplant). My favorite colors change with the decades.
27. My bother is 11 years older than me and my sister is 13 years older than me.
28. I love to read! My current favorite authors are Ken Follett and Nelson DeMille.
29. My first job was at the Crystal Palace in the Magic Kingdom and I HATED it.
30. I have eclectic taste when it comes to music and most everything else. If you saw my CD collection you would think I suffered from multiple personalities.
31. I never understand why people feel bad for me when I say that I teach middle school.
32. I inherited my love for this country, its government and history from my Cuban-born father who was the most patriotic American who ever lived.
33. I love movies and have a bunch of favorites.
34. I can smell the difference between Coke and Pepsi.
35. I think everyone should listen to Simple Man by Lynard Skynard.
36. I attend Discovery Church.
37. This is will be my tenth year at TCS.
38. I don't like cold weather.

40. When I first entered teaching I wanted to impart knowledge in much the same way I enjoyed learning. I have learned through the years that it is not my job to impart knowledge, but rather to impart how to gain and discern knowledge. God has worked wonders in developing my gift of teaching. |
