October 26, 2011- Coffee Chat: Guest Speaker: Paula Roderick - Understanding the College Admissions Process II: How does the Admissions Process Really work? 

November 9th and 16th, 2011 - Coffee Chat: Guest Speaker: Jill Geehr - Helping your child target the best career/field for them. Part I on the 9th and Part II on the 16th.

 

November 11, 2011 - Veteran's Holiday - no school for students.

 

 

NEWS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS

Media Release - Our own Dean Bernie Blue was honored in the Lifetime Achievement Awards. Also, the National Merit Semifinalists for 2011 were announced including those from Nease High School. Please congratulate our qualifying students. Finally, Lou Greco  was elected president of the Florida Association of Media in Education; congratulations to him!

 

Please join PTSO and support Nease by printing this Membership Form . Just send it in with your student or mail to the address on the form. Membership has been lowered to $25 per family this year!

 

GUIDANCE NEWS:

Beginning this school year, Nease guidance counselors will be assigned to students alphabetically by last name instead of grade level. The new assignments are:

A-G Cindy Vartanian H-N Michel Gledhill, and O-Z Daphne Harden.

SPORTS SEASON PASSES ARE NOW AVAILABLE

Is your student planning to participate in a Nease team sport? Families can join the Nease Golden Panther Booster Club online at www.NeaseGPBC.com

Membership goes to support our athletes in the areas of field repair and maintenance, facilities improvements, and funding individual team requests.

Please join today to support your student's teams and start getting the benefits!  Memberships start at $175.

 

Benefits of becoming a GPBC Member:

  • Nease Mandatory Athletic Usage Fee is waived ($50 savings)
  • FREE gate admission to regular season games during the season you choose for your student and your immediate family (value of $5-$7 entry fee per person, per event)
  • Your donation goes DIRECTLY to the sport(s) that you allocate
  • The GPBC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

 ATTENTION: A Northwest Nease Bus is up and running. Parents of out-of-zone Nease students traveling from Northwest St. Johns, have secured a bus from Durham School Services for a daily morning service. There are still seats available for interested families. For a payment of $125, students can begin riding the bus today. For details and more information please contact:

Sylvan Learning Center  in Ponte Vedra Beach offers tutoring in most high school subject areas as well as SAT/ACT Prep. See if you are ready for the SAT/ACT with a free practice test from Sylvan. Call 280-8410 to schedule!

  

St. Johns Learning Center is located in Bartram Executive Park and offers SAT/ACT preparation, study skills, subject tutoring, and organizational strategies.

 

Tutoring Club  offers individual programs for Reading, Math, Writing, Study Skills, and SAT/ACT Preparation.
