Greetings!
Welcome to the November issue of Freeman's E-Newsletter!
A lot has been going on behind the scenes, and we're really close to releasing our completely rebuilt Miapoxy website. This will not only reintroduce Miapoxy to North America, but will also be a merger of our HobbyCast DIY site.
Stay tuned next month for the official launch and some great deals to get the site kick-started!

Sample Kits
For years now, Freeman has been offering our web visitors access to one of the best deals around - our sample kits. We offer two kinds of kits.
Our $25 kits include the Machinable Media Sample Kit, featuring small "soap bar" samples of RenShape tooling boards, plus samples of MDF, Perfect Plank and Machinable Wax. We also offer the Cured Casting Resin & Rubber Sample Kit, which contains 16 cured samples of Repro, Freeman polyurethanes, and silicone rubber. Best of all, it comes with a coupon worth $25 off your next order, essentially making the kit FREE!
One look at the prices of our liquid sample kits and you'll quickly realize why we limit them to one per customer. Providing these low-cost samplers is the next best thing to having one of our technical reps stop by. Whether you want to sample a silicone rubber, a urethane, or both, I encourage you to strongly consider what these kits offer those who haven't yet tried these materials.

Tech-Line Q & A / Announcements |
|
In every issue, we bring you the answers to real-world technical questions that have broad applications. Our technical support staff is available during normal business hours, Monday through Friday, by calling 800-321-8511 (Option 5)
Do you have a casting resin to create a sand casting foundry pattern?
Depending on life expectancy, there are numerous materials
that would be suitable; Listing from least to greatest mold life, we have our Repro,
Epoxy, Freeman 1060, and Freeman 1066 to offer.
Can low melting alloys be used in the silicone molds?
Our silicones can handle low melt alloys (up to 750F) for a
very short period of time (seconds).
The higher the temperature, the faster the degradation of the silicone
mold. Please note zinc alloys
typically have a melting temperature of 725-850F. This will push the limit of the silicone. Pewter has a casting temperature of
515-625F.
Should I use an epoxy or polyurethane tooling board to make prepreg part tools?
We suggest using epoxy board as polyurethane may cause cure inhibition with prepreg composite materials.
How can I understand what shore hardness
is when compared to commonly known items?
This chart gives a good comparison between
Shore Hardness and commonly used materials.
