A Message from BobbieGreetings from our gorgeous paradise! Temps are about 80 with plenty of sunshine. I am pleased to announce the addition of Lynn Rose to the Waterfront agent team. Lynn is an equity member with a long history of mixing her brand of professionalism with her social grace. With a background in law, you can be sure that Lynn will cross all the ts. We will support her clients and market her listings with the same finesse and dedication that we have become known for.
Our other astute team members, Phyllis Galen, Sara Heft, Nelson Gordy and Patti Mays have been here all summer trying to start a spark in this sleepy market. Lynn Rose joins Waterfront!
Welcoming our newest addition 
Lynn Rose was born and raised in Toronto; move to Michigan where she went to law school, raised two fine sons, and practiced law for 25 years. She has been a homeowner at Ocean Reef since 1983. She moved to Ocean Reef full time in 2004 and has been active as a real estate agent since then. She served on the ORCA board from 2005 until 2009. She presently is on the ORCAT board, the Ocean Reef Political Action Committee, Questers Choose and Cherish, the Ocean Reef Yacht Club, The Good Time Girls Golf Group, the Bonefish Bonnies and is the Harbour House representative to the Ocean Reef Advisory Council.

Neighborhood Spotlight
Villa Colony
Villa Colony, also called Villa Cay, was the first full neighborhood built at Ocean Reef in 1964. According to the Ocean Reef Historical Society there were 2 floor plans of one and two bedroom cottages: the Holiday plan or the Celebration plan. Back in the day, the little cottages had addresses like A7 or B5. The Club had one hotel building, one restaurant and a small Marina (and a Golf course?) Today in Villa Cay, there are castles on the Ocean next to some of those cottages.Views still exist for the homes on the B side of the street as there is an agreement amongst neighbors to limit landscaping between homes that sit right on the Ocean. This week 108 Andros was torn down and carried off the Reef. A buyer purchased the small cottage for $4M and intends to build a fantastic structure over the next year.
Two weeks ago we experienced tropical storm Nicole. Despite Villa Cay being the most vulnerable to flooding, the pooling was temporary and there was no damage. Its location is still the best at Ocean Reef just steps away from Buccaneer Island and several restaurants. The prices in this little hamlet range from under 1M to 2M without dockage. (Of course, this excludes the magnificent castles that rarely come on the market.) Exuma Road, the only street in Villa Cay with boat access and seawalls, has two listed properties. Currently there are 7 cottages from $700K to $1.9M on the market. Also there are 2 canal front large homes on Exuma priced at about 5M. Please check out our website for ore details.
