Welcome to the April issue of lemonade. As the crocus and daffodils are popping up and multiplying around us, so are the events and activities in Newport this month. Below are a few suggestions for you to come out of hibernation and explore the season.

You need to hear this new CD by my "brothers of other mothers", Justin Jordan, Steve Holley, Paul Page & Lance Doss aka: The Sidney Green Street Band. This release, the Mall Tease Fall Can, is Southern rock meets Jersey jam in a cover set played by four of New York's finest rock/blues musicians - captured live and on first takes. Gve it a listen-- if you like the Dead, the Stones, the Allmans, etc., you're gonna love these guys as much as we do! For live music this month, The Narrow's Center for the Arts in Fall River has Steve Fobert (4/2), Dave Mason (4/7), Janis Ian (4/8), John Popper (4/28), Rickie Lee Jones (4/30) and many more this month. Brooks Williams plays at the Zeiterion Theatre's new Z Onstage Folk Cafe in New Bedford on 4/14.

Newport Parks & Recreation has three Easter events for the kids on 4/23. Breakfast with the Easter Bunny is at the Elks Lodge from 9am-11am, reservations required, call 845-5800. The Easter Egg Hunt for 3-7 year-olds in Touro Park starts at 10am. At 8pm the Flashlight Easter Egg Hunt is on for ages 8-10 only. On April 25th our local Major League Baseball Pitch, Hit & Run Contest will be held at Toppa Field from 6-7:30pm.

Find more handcrafted treats at the Newport Arts & Crafts Fair on 4/10 from 10am-4pm at the Elks Lodge on Bellevue Avenue. The Jamestown Arts Center's Collaboration 11, a juried members show runs from 4/1-4/28. Was your engraved invitation to Will + Kate's wedding lost in the mail? Yeah, mine too, but we can watch it live in HD on the big screen at the Jane Pickens Theatre on 4/29 starting at 5am-- you bring the tea, I'll grab some crumpets.

It's time to tide-y up the beach! Come to Clean Ocean Access' Coastal Clean-up at South Shore Beach, Little Compton on 4/16 from 12N-2pm, sturdy shoes and gloves are recommended.
