 Summer Program

The days are definitely full and busy here at the NNH this summer!  Walking around each day, children are seen engaged in activities pertaining to Math, Reading and Language Arts skills.  Several new programs started this summer have captivated the children's attention:
International Studies-Each week, a new country is the focus of our attention.  Guests or individuals who have visited each country present information.  Children also complete a map study, flag study and research the country using the Internet.
Academies-  Different community members are sharing their interests and passions with the children.  Children have participated in activities pertaining to investments, different languages like Spanish and German, fitness and building bird houses to name a few.
Career Speakers-  The children  have learned about training and daily life pertaining to various careers.  Guests have included a beekeeper, veterinarian, insurance agent, author and a financial management representative.
In addition to these cool learning activities, children are enjoying time at the pool, as well as trips to the skating rink, zoo, Coolidge Park, the Creative Discovery Museum and Pump It Up.

Thrift Store Needs Your Help

June and July are typically slow months as far as Thrift Store donations go, but the need is the same throughout the year.  More than ever, people are adjusting budgets and looking for ways to cut back on spending.  More and more people are shopping Thrift Stores rather than buying at retail costs, so every donation you make to the NNH Thrift Store helps someone in distressful circumstances to clothe their families.  Recently a customer who lost everything in a house fire said she was able to refurnish her entire house from our Thrift Store.  Your continued support helps provide "a hand up" to people like her.

Save the Date for our Fall Event

For those of you who attended last year, you know what a delightful time was had at NNH's Fall Event.  We are in the midst of planning for another wonderful evening of delicious food and entertaining auctioning for this year's event.  Mark your calendar for Thursday, October 29th and plan to join us at The Mill for an evening of fun!
