 The Need is Now!

Over eighty-five years ago, a group of women dedicated to helping others founded the NNH. Thanks to groups and individuals who believe in the NNH mission and share a common desire to assist others, the NNH has met the needs of countless individuals for many years.

As we hear and see on a daily basis, our country's citizens (including our neighbors) are struggling to provide for their basic needs.  In the first month of 2009, we have seen a 49% increase in our numbers served compared to 2008.  This includes a 55% increase in individuals requesting and receiving assistance with utilities.  A trend which reflects today's struggles is the fact that 41% of our clients seen year to date have never asked us for assistance in the past; while 29% of those served have not been here in five or more years.

Our Board of Directors and staff are dedicated to providing "a hand up, not a hand out" to our neighbors as we have done for the past eighty-five years.  YOU can help us to meet these needs by continuing to support the NNH!
